About Jitter BV

The technical partner for companies developing smart hardware

Technical partner for smart hardware

We help companies turn their smart hardware ideas into reality. With over ten years of experience in embedded systems and our own product platform as a foundation, we bring ideas to a working product faster and with less risk.

The challenge

Many innovative companies have great ideas for smart technology but get stuck in the technical execution. What starts as a clear idea or a working prototype sooner or later hits the limits of what's possible internally. The combination of electronics, firmware and software requires deep expertise that is rare.

Development takes longer than expected. Existing systems become increasingly difficult to maintain. And when the engineer who keeps everything in their head leaves, that knowledge disappears with them.

How we work

Jitter operates as the technical extension of your organisation. Not as an agency that executes a brief and leaves, but as a permanent partner who understands what your product needs to do for your business, and who builds up and transfers that knowledge.

We can step in from the very first idea, but also mid-way through an existing project. We always start with the question behind the question: what should this product solve, why does it matter, for whom, and under what constraints?

From there, we work pragmatically. We reuse what has been proven and develop custom solutions where needed. This shortens lead times and reduces risk, while keeping the product maintainable and cost-efficient.

Why Jitter

What sets Jitter apart is that we don't just build for clients — we also build for ourselves. We took our own product Frogwatch from idea to a working platform, the same journey our clients make. That experience as a product builder makes us a better development partner. Our ambition is to be the technical partner that innovative companies in the Netherlands can rely on.

History

Jitter was founded in July 2015 by Ingmar Jager and Sjors de Wit, while they were still students at Delft University of Technology.

Ingmar and Sjors met during the Robotics minor (2011-2012), where they were part of a multidisciplinary team that developed Care Robot Eva.

During Team Eva (2012–2014), Ingmar and Sjors taught themselves PCB design and firmware development. That knowledge went directly into Jitter's first commercial project.
